Neko Hunter

Neko Hunter is a mobile app that identifies second-hand collectibles from a photo and estimates what they are likely to resell for. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and who else is involved.
Who we are
Neko Hunter is operated by Neko Jita (ABN 74 523 261 400), a registered business name in Australia. For any privacy question or request, contact contact@nekojita.com.au.
What the app collects

Photos
When you scan an item, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis and returns the result to your app. We do not store the photo, log it, or use it to train anything. Anthropic processes it under their own terms as our service provider. The photo also remains saved in your scan history on your device until you delete that scan or uninstall the app.
Please avoid scanning photos that contain people, documents, or anything else you would not want processed by a third-party AI service.
The device identifier
The first time you open the app it generates a random string, stores it on your device, and reuses it. It is not your Apple advertising identifier, not your phone's serial number, and is not linked to your identity or to any account. It exists so we can meter free scans fairly and count unique users. Deleting the app deletes it; reinstalling produces a new one.
Usage events
We record a small number of product events — that the app was opened, that a scan finished, that a find was saved or shared, that a scan limit was hit. These carry the device identifier, your platform (iOS or Android), and simple context such as the item category you selected, the confidence of the result, and whether a barcode was used. They never contain your photos, your prices, or your notes.
What we do not collect
- No name, email address, phone number or postal address
- No location data
- No contacts, calendar, microphone or health data
- No advertising identifiers, and no tracking of you across other apps or websites
- No payment details — any purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google
Who else is involved
- Anthropic — analyses scanned photos and returns an appraisal. Privacy policy
- Cloudflare — hosts the server that sits between the app and Anthropic, and stores the per-device scan counts. Privacy policy

- RevenueCat — manages subscription status against your anonymous device identifier. Privacy policy
- Apple and Google — distribute the app and handle any purchases.
We do not sell your data, share it with data brokers, or use it for advertising.
Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Neko Hunter Pro, the payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details, billing address, or Apple ID. What we receive is a yes-or-no answer to "does this device have an active subscription?", recorded against the same anonymous device identifier described above. Cancelling is done through your Apple ID subscription settings, not through us.
How long we keep things
- Photos: not retained on our servers. They exist only in transit, and in your own scan history on your device.
- Scan counts: stored against your device identifier and automatically deleted after about two months.
- Usage events: retained by our analytics provider while the product is active.
- Everything on your phone: kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Your choices
- Delete your data. Deleting a scan removes it from your device. Uninstalling the app removes your entire local history, preferences and device identifier.
- Camera and photo access. You can grant or revoke these at any time in your device settings. The app only uses them when you take or choose a photo.
- Ask us. Write to the address above to ask what is held against your device identifier, or to have it deleted. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
Neko Hunter is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers operate servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Using the app means information described here may be processed overseas.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Our API credentials are held server-side and are not distributed inside the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, note it in the app.
